Your Guide to Hiking the Devil’s Marbleyard (plus some misadventures)

Hey guys, here’s the first post for the new blog. Enjoy!

Welcome to the very first adventure post of this blog. Or, as the case may be, misadventure post.

This week, I got to explore Devil’s Marbleyard about 50 minutes outside of Lynchburg. It’s a gorgeous location, and one heck of a hike. I don’t want you to get the idea from the title that this hike was a total washout, now. It was actually mostly a ton of fun, but with a few, um, hurdles, along the way…

To read the rest head over to the Exploring the Seven Hill blog now.

There shall be your introduction to the man I’m calling “The Boyfriend.” He’ll show up here a lot, I’m sure.

And while you’re there, check out the cool new interactive map under the Hiking tab. It’s going to be a lot cooler once I have a few more pins on it.

Announcement: New travel blog for the summer

First off, sorry about the lack of podcast post on Sunday. I started the week with 140 pages of script writing to get done in two weeks, so I needed the time I would normally spend editing the podcast episode to write. I’m down to 90 pages, so I’m on target currently, and if I still am at the end of the week, hopefully, I will have time to edit that episode and get it up.

Now please enjoy this scheduled post.

I have an announcement:

I’m starting a new blog/website over the summer. Since I’m going to be in Lynchburg for the whole summer, I decided to start a travel style blog for the city. I’ll be visiting interesting places in Lynchburg and within an hour of it.

A few of the places that I’m planning on visiting include Sharp Top and Flat Top mountains, Jump Trampoline park, various downtown Lynchburg shops and restaurants, and Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest.

The blog will include video, audio, and text posts. I’m getting a GoPro-style action camera that I’m looking forward to using. I’m also going to try to interview local people and business owners as well.

So what does this mean for this blog? Well, basically, you get an extra post every week. I’m planning to have posts from that blog up on Tuesdays. I’ll be posting the first few paragraphs of each post here, and then you can click on it and go over to the other site.

So, if you’re interested, the new blog is called Exploring the Seven Hills, and I’m starting the posts on May 23rd.
